看得出葛老师不是天才是地才 本书写得很勤恳很质朴很传统很亲切
没读完，工具书，可以反复读。读过的部分觉得不错。
刚开头就笑死我了
英文写作经典教材
Plain English = Clarify+Grace = Unity+Coherence+Emphasis+Euphony
这本书一定要反复研读。 这么多年过去了，写作中常犯的错误反反复复也就是葛老提到的这些东西，书中大量的tips都是精华啊，关键看你怎么在实践中运用，并以高标准要求自己，不然你的写作水平是很难有所提升的。 前段时间考试辅导书看多了，写的东西就跟八股文式的，似乎忘记了写作的本质，突然开始厌恶写作。这几天又把这本书找出来翻阅了一遍，才懂得作者的苦口婆心，用心致深。很幸运从最开始练习英文写作的时候就接触到了这本书，才不至于在写作上走上弯路。
絮絮叨叨的……可惜没有遇上过这样的好老师。幸运的是网络时代很容易就能找到想看的书和资料。
# 从写得对到写得好
1. 写得对即符合语法和习惯，优先考虑习惯。书中近1/2篇幅的语法部分显得过时（chap4-5）。
2. 按照词汇、句子、段落和文体的顺序展开讨论如何写得好，其中句子部分最富启发性（chap6-8）。
3. 评价句子的标准有Unity【每一句子表达一个完整的想法】、 Coherence【词汇、短语和从句的顺序安排得当】、Emphasis【令人印象深刻】和Euphony【把句子读出来时要好听】。
4. 练习方法包括表达他人的想法（缩写/改写/汉译英）及表达自己的想法（日记/摘要）。尤其有趣的是，把英诗改写成散文(chap3)。
5. 全书共有8个chap，均以平实的英语写成。作者爱用的表达：作为建议的When xx, do sth；用分号连接的互为因果的两个句子。
