針對日治時期首創現代主義詩社「風車詩社」的作家楊熾昌之生平及其文學，作歷史性的綜合考察。楊熾昌雖然提倡西脇順三郎知性的超現實精神，偏重意象之美、較略實質內涵，然而在時代風氣之下，仍然書寫了三首社會寫實風貌濃厚且鏗鏘有力的散文詩創作作品。風車詩社結束之後，楊熾昌詩作風格則傾向以死亡的女性為主題所型塑的文學之美。
