柏拉图是古希腊很有代表性的大思想家、大哲学家、大文学家、大教育家。他的思想与著作对西方哲学理念与整个文化的发展发挥过重要作用,有着极其深远的影响,是希腊文化宝库中很有代表性的宝藏。
增订版合集相较原四卷本全集,除了对原译文进行逐字逐句的修改,还做了较大改动有:(1)原版中各篇对话的提要译自伊迪丝·汉密尔顿所撰写的各篇对话短序。本次修订,所有提要均由译者根据本人的研究心得亲自撰写;
(2)对柏拉图的疑伪之作16篇做了补译并全部收录;
(3)专有名词(人名、地名、族名、神名)有少量改动和增添;哲学概念和术语的译名结合近年来的研究动态有改动,并以注释的方式说明旧译和新译的基本情况。
(4)参照已有各种版本的柏拉图著作,重新修改了书中所有注释;
(5)参考英文版柏拉图全集索引,重编修订版索引,增加希腊文对照。增订版已出版十本小册子,现改16开本精装三册,便于读者使用或收藏。

作者简介
柏拉图(约公元前427―前347年),原名Πλτων,英译为Plato。西方哲学乃至西方文化目前很伟大的哲学家和思想家之一。出生于古希腊雅典贵族家族,自幼受到良好教育,后师从苏格拉底。他所开创的“柏拉图主义”、“柏拉图式爱情”、经济学图表对后世影响深远。在他的著作中,苏格拉底的死亡被称为“西方文学目前很伟大的死亡”,仅次于基督之死。除《苏格拉底之死》(也有译为《苏格拉底的申辩》)外,还有《对话录》、《理想国》等著作。
