作者简介
柏拉图（约公元前427―前347年），原名Πλτων，英译为Plato。西方哲学乃至西方文化目前很伟大的哲学家和思想家之一。出生于古希腊雅典贵族家族，自幼受到良好教育，后师从苏格拉底。他所开创的“柏拉图主义”、“柏拉图式爱情”、经济学图表对后世影响深远。在他的著作中，苏格拉底的死亡被称为“西方文学目前很伟大的死亡”，仅次于基督之死。除《苏格拉底之死》（也有译为《苏格拉底的申辩》）外，还有《对话录》、《理想国》等著作。

王晓朝的译本读了毁终身，一定不要碰。
王晓朝教授《全集》的初版未阅读过，不作评价，但是这个修订版还是很不错的，不过翻译得放不开手脚。例如在斐多篇中没有翻译出那种灵光来，巴门尼德篇的译注和术语上不够学术性等问题。其实王教授大可不必这样贪多，将传统的名篇作扎实就已经是一样了不起的工作了，独自揽过全集的翻译，能力终归不及
