Ashley Mears 紐約大學社會學博士，學術研究重點為文化與市場的交集，也關注性別、種族、階級不平等的問題；過去曾是一名時裝模特兒，在時尚產業中一邊工作，一邊蒐集田野調查資料。她的另一本前作為《美麗的標價》（Pricing Beauty；簡體中文版書名）。米爾斯目前受聘於波士頓大學社會學系以及女性與性／別研究學程，擔任副教授。 譯者簡介 柯昀青 國立台灣大學社會學碩士，現任職於台灣冤獄平反協會，譯有《女性主義改變科學了嗎？》、《我才不是女性主義者：一部女性主義宣言》等書。
