Roger T. Ames），伦敦大学亚非学院博士，现为北京大学哲学系人文讲席教授，孔子研究院特聘专家及山东省儒学大家。曾历任夏威夷大学哲学系教授、夏威夷大学和美国东西方中心亚洲发展项目主任、《东西方哲学》（Philosophy East and West）及《国际中国书评》（China Review International）主编等。研究领域为中西比较哲学、美国实用主义哲学等。主要成果为:《论语》、《孙子兵法》、《孙膑兵法》、《淮南子》、《道德经》、《孝经》、《中庸》等译著，及《孔子文化奖学术精粹丛书•安乐哲卷》（华夏出版社2015年版）, Confucian Role Ethics: A Vocabulary(Chinese University of Hong Kong Press, 2011), The Democracy of the Dead：Dewey, Confucius, and the Hope for Democracy in China (University of Hawai‘i Press, 1999), Anticipating China: Thinking through the Narratives of Chinese and Western Culture (SUNY, 1998), Thinking Through Confucius (State University of New York Press, 1987), Thinking from the Han: Self, Truth, and Transcendence in Chinese and Western Culture (SUNY, 1995), and The Art of Rulership: A Study in Ancient Chinese Political Thought (SUNY, 1983)等专著。
