书籍介绍
Algorithmic design is not simply the use of computer to design architecture and objects. Algorithms allow designers to overcome the limitations of traditional CAD software and 3D modelers, reaching a level of complexity and control which is beyond the human manual ability. Algorithms-Aided Design presents design methods based on the use of Grasshopper®, a visual algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhinoceros®, the 3D modeling software by McNeel & Associates allowing users to explore accurate freeform shapes. The book provides computational techniques to develop and control complex geometries, covering parametric modeling, digital fabrication techniques, form-finding strategies, environmental analysis and structural optimization. It also features case studies and contributions by researchers and designers from world's most influential universities and leading architecture firms.
精彩摘录
  • "Data: big data, small data, ubiquitous data. Algorithms fed by data are indifferent to output. The practice of organizing data to generate geometry has been explored by design offices since the early 1980's, discussed in academic texts, and demonstrated at institutions. Beyond the commonly perceived"
  • "A changed paradigm can now be depicted. 1. computational research and knowledge have been widely spread thanks to those architects, researchers and universities who shared their experiences. The web has become an invaluable source for tutorials published in blogs or websites which are inspiring to y"
  • "The need for digital designers and artists to redefine their agenda is quite well described in the article written by Michael Parsons for Design Review: "Tolerance and Customization: a Question of Value". Even if I cannot completely adhere to author's vision I think he is right when arguing thatas d"

超赞 简直是学习grasshopper不二选择。逻辑清晰,深入浅出。
神书,太牛了。看了作者的设计,真的很棒,有理论,有设计的建筑师好厉害。读了目前很需要的部分,其他以后补充。
data , control , transformations, skins , loops, digital fabrication谎言 , digital simulation , evolutive structures , environmental analysis .
挺好的,有点滞后
好书,比看视频学舒服多了。
神书,解释了很多细节和几何原理,跳过了loop、environmental analysis和一些论文章节,认真做了一遍发现还是学了很多,都是很多视频里不会提的知识
