本想放过这个译本的,虽然开始就不少长句表述不清(第二章还有概念错位的),好歹总体能读…直到15章把J. Austin当作简奥斯汀…
和之前读的波兰尼有共通之处(尤其参考16章Cobbett & Austen一段),行文也一样汪洋恣肆(比如第九章严谨人想必不会拿“贫瘠的波利尼西亚”落人口实)。前半部分亮点颇多:对“情感主义”社会的精准分析,运用科学哲学对科学困境的把握,包含阶层和科层特性的现代“特性角色”概念。后半部分也好,但梳理了古典的各种得失后,作者对“多数的美德”目的论如何实现只能讳莫如深,“Angst只是文化奢侈品”的乐观承诺似乎没有很好实现。作者在此对曾经所属的马克思主义阵营的批评比较间接,更多或许需要找他的《马尔库塞》《马克思主义与基督教》等等来读(不立flag)。
