boring in comparison with other Google books
感觉比《The Google Planet》好很多。讲到的技术方面也很详细。而且还讲到了Google退出中国的内幕。读完后感觉Google真会变成个AI公司。今天看到新闻说Google又在AI领域有什么进步,突然感觉很怕,怕错过什么
好看,大量秘辛,互联网爱好者与谷歌爱好者必看。
国内科技媒体之流的行文和这本书的差距有一万个硅谷。。。
经常有感动。
本书成书极为难得,作者从99年就开始对Google进行报道,为了本书采访了200+Google相关人士+翻阅资料。看书好像过了一遍谷歌十年创业成长史,有的场面充满细节和戏剧冲突,仿佛在看美剧(比如Google因为在天朝搜索配合censorship被国会审问,当他们说自己是通过百度搜索的结果来训练算法学习屏蔽,参议员犀利嘲讽:我们在各行各业都听过best practice, 现在我听到了美国商业的一个创新,worst practice)。书中提到Sundar Pichar,李彦宏、李开复、陆奇等日后连做硬件的我都听说过的大佬,果然大佬很早之前就已经崭露头角。G做大之后就成了靶子,因为版权、隐私、垄断等嫌疑一直被围攻,在社交网络折戟沉沙和许多失败的实验产品也证明G不是无所不能——我还是来了。

直奔第六章去的,虽然google离开中国十年了,但依旧想窥探下离开的真正原因。但,看的中文版,但翻译的的水平不敢恭维。对李开复的认识有多了一个方面。
