now I know that many many women live in this alternate, satisfying & better universe where men do not successfully compromise women. Curtis Sittenfeld is such a witty, effective and imaginative writer. 2020 fav.!
一定程度上满足了我的想象的“同人文”
在Inauguration Day读完真是应景的巧合 终章读到President Rodham这个真实度0%的词组不禁心里一咯噔 当然希拉里自问是否有个平行宇宙她最终嫁给了比尔 他们的婚姻是否持久 也是一咯噔 懂王的野路子助攻和科技圈亿万富翁比尔克林顿颇有科幻色彩 辩论演讲再度佐证在政治圈讲实话反而会成为有奇效的清流 虽然遗憾当选总统不是现实 但同人文架构下的希拉里看起来挺幸福也不错!
如果希拉里没嫁给比尔克林顿这个setup本该多么有意思啊 结果能撑过前段二位全是细节的爱情故事和非常糟糕的性描写同人创作的都是狠人（包括我） 然而这部分占据了全书的35% 之后才开始国会议员竞选一路到16年总统竞选的精彩 James的故事和最后primary debate的发言是两个高光

看完最后一章还挺感慨的 忍不住在想Hillary如果真的当总统了那the world will never be the same 至少也许我也不会和现在一样/Bill真的擅长搞砸和H的每一次约会！2005年带着condom去找Bill真的惨/怎么说呢 六十多岁的单身女性依然把性生活看得和政治生涯差不多重要的美国女人 挺可爱的/被问懂王厌女但支持你你有什么想法 H说人是会进步的他现在这么说不代表以后也这么认为 懂王说 政客都要虚伪一点 她赞同我的 笑死/James那段爱情还是蛮动人的咯 所以说男人还是挂墙上的最可爱/ Bill在里面又肮脏又虚伪 道歉的时候人模狗样 恼羞成怒起来真叫人sick 还在那大言不惭给自己找借口说JFK有情妇 LBJ有情妇你咋就不能忍忍 别人都能忍就你不能忍都是你有错
这书太神奇了。。从读的第一晚开始每晚做梦都在谈美好的恋爱并且嗑自己cp。。
Very convincing! And entertaining! IMO觉得作者这个counterfactual做得不错，大背景都保持一致，还从这个宇宙聪明的借了一些人和事。 中间特别栩栩如生的写出了Hillary Rodham小心翼翼build connection/coalition 而一步一步达到presidency的心路, 非常‘真诚’。2005年买好condom／lube去找Bill那里简直太惨又太好笑了。
