The BRD or West Germany is no more democratic than the GDR or East Germany was. In fact, the German Democratic Republic had “democratic” in its name, and so has the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which makes both of these places perfectly more “democratic” than the BRD ever was and ever will be.
