翻译研究是目前世界上发展最快的跨学科研究领域之一。《文化构建》一书第一次把这一领域两位开创者――翻译家、学者苏珊・巴斯内特和安德烈・勒菲弗尔的论文集合成册。论文集所收文章延续并深化了两人近几年来所进行的主要研究，尤其是对翻译文化转向的研究。书中探讨的主题有：中西译论、可译性的限度、翻译何时并非翻译、翻译研究与文化研究的关系等等。有的论文是针对一定体裁，如戏剧翻译、诗歌翻译；有的重在个案研究，讨论了维吉尔、布莱希特等人作品英译后的境遇。

作者简介
苏珊・巴斯内特：英国沃里克大学(UniversityofWarwick)英国和比较文化研究中心教授。著作包括《翻译研究》(Translation Studies)、《比较文学浅论》(Comparative Literature：A Critical Introduction)以及与安德烈・勒菲弗尔合编的《翻译、历史与文化》(Translation, History and Culture)等。
安德烈・勒菲弗尔(1946-1996)：翻译研究领域世界一流的学术带头人。著述丰厚，包括：《诗歌翻译：七种策略和一个蓝图》(Translation Poetry：Seven Strategies and a Blueprint)、《翻译、重写以及对文学名声的操纵》(Translation，Rewriting and the Manipulation of Literary Fame)等。
