安东尼·葛姆雷(Antony Gormley)
1950 年生,英国当代最著名的雕塑家之一。1971 年毕业于剑桥大学三一学院人类学和考古学专业;1977 年毕业于伦敦大学斯莱德美术学院,获雕塑硕士学位。1994 年获得英国著名现代艺术奖“透纳奖”。2014 年获得英国女王伊丽莎白授予的爵士头衔。人体是他创作的中心主题,这既源于西方雕塑传统,也离不开他对考古学、人类学、亚洲和佛教思想的研究。葛姆雷将雕塑视为“创造未来的重要工具”,其最为著名的作品包括位于英格兰东北部的户外大型雕塑《北方天使》(Angel of the North ),散落在利物浦克罗斯比海滩上的《别处》(Another Place ),以及集体完成的“土地”(Field)系列——由成千上万的陶俑构成, 曾在世界多个国家和地区展出,每到一地必“填满”该处博物馆。
