格洛丽亚·K. 费尔罗（Gloria K. Fiero）在纽约出生和长大，于加利福尼亚大学伯克利分校取得艺术史硕士学位，后于弗罗里达州立大学获得博士学位。费尔罗教授从事人文传统、世界历史和艺术史的教学已经超过三十年。
1996年，人文教育研究协会（Humanities Education and Research Association）正式设立了“格洛丽亚·费尔罗”人文传统讲座系列，用来纪念费尔罗教授在人文传统教学与研究领域的贡献。该项目每年举办学术讲座和演出，深受学生和学者欢迎。

三年！三年了！我终于认真把它看完了！应该说是更偏重艺术和文学的通史，有一些地方还是编得比较杂乱难把握，最好的地方是补全了我对中世纪的认知（毕竟不管是历史课本还是大学选修课都是用黑暗的中世纪一笔带过），好了我终于可以来看第二本了。
终于有时间一口气读完了！感觉把脑子里零散混乱的知识点都串起来了，好书强推。
在page one 翻了一下 觉得还挺吸引我的 内容平易近人 甚至引人入胜 而且后面延展阅读 一点都不像教材 这是看评论才知道的 感觉自己以前学的都已经忘光了而且真实性值得怀疑 感觉像是从新自学教材 类似还债了 估计读完这三本托福GRE阅读应该没问题了
19.2.18靠🚩的力量看到希腊，看的很辛苦，尤其是reading的魔性语言逻辑，日后再来。
在重光会有辛学完，虽然特别特别难（特别是印度那一章的相关英文表达），但真的很棒。
作者功力深厚，学识渊博，本书将世界文明进行综观比较，对人颇有启发，是一本了解世界文明的好教材。
然而，原书共六卷本，国内出版社选择二合一，整合为三册，印刷纸张又是铜版纸，导致一本书重达1kg+，阅读体验非常不友好。
终于啃完一遍…… 看完啥也没记住。书是好书，于是还打算二刷和三刷，第一遍就当有个印象了。还有两本等着我，冲鸭！
