第一部长篇小说,7分
看了超级超级久,700页真的是够了,不过还好没有《米德尔马契》更久……看的这个版本女主角译成汀娜而不是黛娜,勃兰色太太真的是个妙人“他就是只公鸡,以为太阳出来就是要听他叫。”太好笑了哈哈哈,教化寓意很重,但是还是都在为情节服务,并不觉得突兀。
就书本身而言,从未见过的地得错用如此严重的书,错字也不少,有同音有形近。人名译法不一致,严重怀疑是分给几个学生锅,看都没看就汇总定稿了。最离谱的是借到的这本中间少了33页,靠文献传递才补上。因为老版没有纸质版才读的新版翻译,但是在接连三次翻车之后,对新译本的信任度已经直线下降。
读维多利亚小说,沉浸在那个丰富,生动的世界感到莫名的安心。乡村的一草一木,一个个鲜活饱满的农民形象。越是写具体而微的平凡人物,平淡日常,越需要开阔的胸襟。对人性有多少嘲讽也有多少温柔。赫蒂受难的部分读到哽咽,想到苔丝,想到尤斯塔西娅,不合时宜的美貌,不合时宜的梦或许是一杯苦酒,毒酒,然而正因为如此反而更具有悲剧意味。亚塔尔精神上的逐渐“堕落”也颇让人沉思,罪恶的结果往往不起于邪恶的心灵,一点点懦弱,一点点妥协,然后是让人无法琢磨的命运的因果。
狄狄赠书,深谢~19世纪的英伦小说永远是心头好,一切感情与技巧都古典(或曰朴拙)得令人无限宽容,连黛娜喋喋不休的宗教说教都可以忍耐了。艾略特笔触中自有那种惊鸿一现、灵光乍现的字句,珠玉一般,颇可赏玩。

【2022.85】 乔治艾略特谈的是上帝,可她关注的焦点从不更易,始终如一。上帝和桌子椅子同处于在一个平面上,结果,我们却一刻都不曾觉得整个宇宙需要怜悯和爱,只有在海蒂的牢房里才需要它们。
读起来的感觉跟哈代蛮像的,很有意思的群像小说,每个人物都各有光辉。不过这个happy ending是不是突兀了点?
