詹姆斯•希尔顿(James Hilton),英国小说家,在剑桥大学学习期间就开始写作。著有《消失的地平线》(1933)、《鸳梦重温》(1941)。《再会,奇普斯先生》原是希尔顿1933年为英国《不列颠周刊》的圣诞节增刊所作,次年出版单行本。他的小说屡屡被搬上银幕,均大获成功。 李纯一,上海《文汇报》编辑,合译有《太多值得思考的事物:索尔•贝娄散文选,1940—2000》等。
