Craig Matthew Thompson (b. September 21, 1975 in Traverse City, Michigan) is a graphic novelist best known for his 2003 work Blankets. Thompson has received four Harvey Awards, two Eisner Awards, and two Ignatz Awards. In 2007, his cover design for the Menomena album Friend and Foe received a Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package.

忧伤的初恋往事
皑皑白雪下的故事。对情感的描写极其细腻，画风也非常有表现力，看得人仿佛跟着作者一起经历了童年和初恋QAQ，遗憾又充实。TIME的评论太到位了，“Achingly beautiful”。读完之后把书放在一边，仅仅看着这么厚厚一本就觉得安心。
A quite bittersweet come-of-age story. Love the brotherhood part the most.
第一遍看完。关于信仰、家庭、成长和爱情，非常细腻忧伤的故事。中间略嫌拖沓，节奏控制稍有欠缺，想必作者自己也沉溺于初恋的甜蜜回忆不愿自拔了。开头是最棒的部分，尤其第一章，叙事结构非常精彩。整个看下来最喜欢的部分就是他和弟弟Phil的那些童年回忆。回头需要抱着词典再看一遍。
A very lovely, biographical, coming-of-age story. 虽然很厚，但是绘本，一下午就能看完了，推荐。

全书没有激烈的戏剧冲突，有的只是对长大过程中信仰转变、体验初爱的娓娓平叙，但总有细节能与自身成长经历的耦合之处深深共鸣。以Blankets为题，但这其中最重要的理由，也是最关键的那条Blanket，是那条初恋中获得的纹理多样的手织毛毯。无疾而终也好，慢慢消逝也罢，苦涩的初恋之味总是令人难以忘怀。
太神了
coming-of-age自传体。画风非常美丽细腻，线条流畅， 准确表达了那个敏感少年丰富的内心世界。近六百页的图像小说，并没有复杂的情节冲突，整体感觉就是很温暖又有点伤感。书中回忆了童年时和弟弟的打闹，在深厚传统的基督教文化中被养育长大，自己对信仰的追求和困惑，直到最后脱离了教会。 占主要篇幅的是关于作者初恋的故事，并主要围绕在女友家度过的那个短暂的假期展开。作者笔下的年轻恋人之间的缠绵既充满欲望又如天使般纯洁，把十七、八岁那个年龄里的爱情写得那样美好又脆弱。 真是叫人感动呢。
可以列入美国21世纪文学的经典了。极大拓宽了我对绘画小说这个种类的理解。
