In Journey of a Boy Scout Troop, Dorsey and Arthur illuminates the odyssey that led twenty-one Boy Scouts and five adult leaders on a journey to the prestigious and well recognized nationally and internationally Boy Scout camping facility in the World. This is a true story of their Ordeal to prepare and Train for Philmont Scout Ranch, their fundraising efforts to cover the cost to get there and sacrifices made by their Family, Community leaders and Churches involved in assisting these young Scouts to reach their Goal; Making it to Philmont.These Boy Scouts were recommended and recruited from all regions of the State of Louisiana by their Scoutmasters and Troop Committee members to comprise this contingent Troop. They hailed from Small towns and Bayou Communities. Life in the Post-Depression south was tough and money was hard to come by. These Scouts Broke the Color Barrier by Integregating Philmont for being the Firt all Black Boy Scout Troop to fully participate with White Boy Scouts during Segregation in 1966. These Scouts were recognized as Pioneers and Trail balzers in Scouting being inducted into the National Scouting Museum Library and Achives on December 15, 2012.
