Providing step-by-step guidance for every stage of the meditation path, this uniquely comprehensive guide for a Western audience combines the wisdom from the teachings of the Buddha with the latest research in cognitive psychology and neuroscience. Clear and friendly, this in-depth practice manual builds on the nine-stage model of meditation originally articulated by the ancient Indian sage Asanga, crystallizing the entire meditative journey into 10 clearly-defined stages. The book also introduces a new and fascinating model of how the mind works, and uses illustrations and charts to help the reader work through each stage. This manual is an essential read for the beginner to the seasoned veteran of meditation and can be read from front to back, or used as a reference guide, choosing chapters as needed based on the current state of the reader’s practice.

"Unfortunately, mastering Stage Ten doesn’t include permanent freedom from the mental afflictions of desire and aversion and the suffering they cause".
Mindfulness meditation needn't be so complicated and dreary. There are better, more accessible books in the market. Sure it may contain useful information for an experienced meditator, but for such a misunderstood field, simple, direct, precise writing is as paramount as the techniques themselves.
A girlfriend of mine in London, who also happens to be a psychic & dominatrix, reached out to test her newly acquired remote viewing and astral travel abilities. I was instantly intrigued by this ancient communication technique. No joke, no data roaming, only some latency and some ambiguities open to interpretation. Quarantine travel hacks. 👻
full of detailed instructions. it seems the author has the esper to sense when and how you will get stuck or make a mistake.
这本《The Mind Illuminated》虽然没有《Mindfulness in plain English》流传甚广,但是在冥想社区里颇受好评。
