读之前我真的以为是一本讲 Preppy fashion 的书(也确实有讲),结果发现其实是本一本正经地全方位讥讽 Preppy lifestyle 的书,包括穿什么、用什么、做什么,甚至给狗起什么名字,几乎每句话都有梗,插图精美,编排有趣,大概是 GQ 实验室讽刺中产系列的鼻祖。

本书是介绍普及美国Preppy文化的入门手册,全书分为七章,依次是Rights of the birthright: the years at home; The root of all prep: the years at school; The best years of your life: the college years; Dressing the part: the basic look; The real world: the young executive years; You're all grown up now: the country club years; Prep spoken here等,本书曾登顶《纽约时报》的畅销书榜达38周。
Might be a serious book back to 1980s, then sarcasm in the 2000s, and today as a lament to the good'ol days. With the fact that technology is taking away the space from Finance as the later once does to art, literature and humanity, we observe how the norms became relics.
I meant to look for a fashion guide but clearly received more fun than that.
