1941年威廉·惠勒的电影版已经让人觉得这出戏十分讽刺了，Lillian Hellman的原著更是让人不寒而栗，Alexandra一直是独自面对这残酷的成人世界中的evil force, 同时又有种“生而为人，我很惭愧”的感觉。或许是因为第一次读戏剧吧，觉得Hellman的动作描写太到位了，非常吸引人。 "Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes."
