很难,间接反映了希腊语的摇曳多姿……雅典、罗马市民背井离乡的特写,加图暗度温泉关,卢库鲁斯的失势,et cetera。
只读了Camillus。
这一卷里面Lucullus的情况实际上很像Cato,无非一个侧重国内政治事务的活动,另一个强调在外面怎么打仗的。但问题相似之处就是,两个人都清楚什么是更值得追求的,什么事该做的,但在和普通民众相处着一块上,两个人做的其实都算不上好,而且是相当的失败。最后都被他们自身和民众之间的tension活活压死。后半部分也挺有意思,Lucullus虽然奢靡,这个是要批判一番,但和Marius等人无穷无尽地渴望打仗,渴望借打仗捞钱相比,那简直是好不知道哪里去了。或者说是不是就是因为看到这种张力,包括后面按这些人胡作非为才选择退隐的?他自己的选择也是一个很有意思的问题。
