In his widely praised book, award-winning psychologist Jonathan Haidt examines the world’s philosophical wisdom through the lens of psychological science, showing how a deeper understanding of enduring maxims-like Do unto others as you would have others do unto you, or What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger-can enrich and even transform our lives.
印象最深的是love and work are two core components of happiness.
Positive psychology
Happiness=Setpoint+Condition+Voluntary activities. Condition=love(attachments)+work(vital engagement)
感觉是the righteous mind和the coddling of the American mind的前身,讨论什么是和怎样得到happiness。
Although the book's first few chapters have some real merits, the second half is sloppier and worse argued than the first few, it lost credibility quickly. The book does not come close to promise to distill a vast array of writings from various civilizations throughout human history into a small number of guiding principles.
The reward of virtue is virtue itself.
