O'Henry is lauded as the best short story writer in twentieth century. Looking with a 21st century perspective, some of his twists might not strike a cord with us as they used to but I say reading him is still a wonderful journey to embark on let alone there're 41 stories in one book that means you get to know 41 lives in one try.

1个多月抽空陆续读完，欧亨利的语言风格风趣睿智，插科打诨，俚语方言穿插，处处是梗，因此开头往往读起来有些吃力，不过理解其中妙处之后总是能令人会心一笑。而故事则几乎都像是来自一个个逃离现实的童话，那里迷人的爱情就在转角，那里盗亦有道，那里到最后没有解不开的命运难题。
