萨拉·凯恩（Sarah Kane），出生于1971年，1999年自杀。一生共创作有《摧毁》（Blasted,1995）、《菲德拉的爱》（Phaedra's Love,1996）、《清洗》（Cleansed,1998）、《渴求》（Crave,1998）和《4.48精神崩溃》（4.48 Paychosis,1999）五个剧本。凯恩还曾为英国BBC电视第四频道写过一个电影剧本《皮肤》（Skin,1997）。

很喜欢“Phaedra’s Love”，算是五部戏里虐待和性较少的一部，但关于爱的真相太鲜血淋漓了。憎恶自己使人开始去爱人，并通过收获伤害来证实爱是真的。人对上帝的爱同样虚伪，犯罪，忏悔，再犯罪，形成无尽的环——上帝不会洁净你，除非你成为上帝，并诚实地将自己的罪愆延续，就像Hippolytus一样。牧师在最后成为Hippolytus信徒，为他口交，不只是信仰的崩塌，也是发问人在挣脱上帝这个虚伪的幌子后，该如何面对本真自我的难题。
