查老师推广哲学概念的本领无疑当世无双,从游戏电影推及哲学概念、理论,想必无哲学基础的读者也会读得过瘾。新书既是哲普又有学术(尤其第八章到第十三章),结合相当完美。可能此书又会像The conscious mind一样引领一代潮流。我知道一些学究会批判查老师浅薄,就会重新包装哲学概念,创意缺乏。比如新书的核心概念,it-from-bit hypothesis来自别人,结构主义变种,甚至莱布尼兹、易经皆有类似想法,simulation hypothesis大概也只是笛卡尔论证变种,如此种种,然“浅薄”的查老师却能把话题带火,他就可以把已有的原料炖出一锅新菜。
