那个年代就很牛逼

Textbook. 很有当时的道理，但是对现在有多适用？

能记住的就只有如果作为行为系统来看的话，人类是非常简单的，但是人的行为表现的复杂性则是人在复杂的环境中认知自己的映像。里面还提到食物是否复杂在于我们的表现形式，而且现在发现的很多复杂结构都是冗余的，但是利用这些冗余可以去发现正确的表现形式。

But I have argued that people- or at least their intellective component- may be relatively simple, that most of the complexity of their behavior may be drawn from their environment, from their search for good designs. Too boring to read

为了借到这本花了大力气但西蒙的内容值得我为他花的力气

惊叹于西蒙的博学，在他笔下，不同的事物间竟有如此多的相似之处，从人工物的视角出发，他将各个领域的知识整合起来，这不就是现在提倡的交叉学科嘛？难以相信这本书1969年第一版、1996年第三版，最新修订的版本距今也25年了，但书中的观点今天看来依旧很有启发意义。他开创的设计科学，指出了一条在复杂的现实环境、不可预测的未来中有所行动的路径。

很多1996年观点在2021年看并不算特别新鲜。但是相比新鲜的洞见，我更喜欢作者的修辞技巧和生动有趣的呈现方式。

一本历久弥新的好书，充满了洞见。有的时候可以说脑洞大的让人赞叹（1969年时大部分想法已经成型了），有控制论，有复杂系统，有单元和整体关系的思考。更是能够把思路延伸到人类行为，非常有广度的一本书。很可惜在这个世代被人忽视了（很难见到在所谓大数据文献中还有人提起西蒙）。中文版也翻译的不错（基于原书第三版）。
