From the self-described 'black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet', these soaring, urgent essays on the power of women, poetry and anger are filled with darkness and light.

Survival is not a theory, and unity does not mean unanimity.(记得两年前看《回归故里》时思考性取向与阶级的交叉,我还很难想象再叠加性别,一个不富裕的黑人女同性恋要如何在这样的社会自处,Audre Lorde 的女权视角拓展了我对 “erotic” 和 “anger” 的理解。
“Interdependency between women is the way to a freedom which allows I to be, not in order to be used, but in order to be creative.” “The master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house. They may allow us temporarily to beat him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring about genuine change.”
Audre Lorde 确实读起来非常有感情
I was recommended to read this collection of essays by a secondhand bookshop owner. She said she bought a bag of copies from a local bookshop and gifted them to her friends. Why do we stand up to defend ourselves? Lorde says, 'if I didn't define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people's fantasies for me and eaten alive.'
“Not to believe that revolution is a one-time event, or something that happens around us rather than inside of us. Not to believe that freedom can belong to any one group of us without the others also being free.”
诗歌,爱欲,愤怒,差异…
Lorde在其中看到了能够开启一场运动,make a change 的力量;但这每一个也都可能沦为自我瓦解的契机
奢侈,性欲,仇恨,隔阂…
We must be responsible for our own liberation.
