Planted a seed in me from young.
开始部分讲的非洲生活还挺有趣的，也比较轻松，后面参加二战部分就比较严肃了，有的地方还比较残酷。单词量不大，内容很充实，有的细节很出色，8.6吧，很不错了。
写过《查理的巧克力工厂》作家的著作，文字诙谐有趣，充斥着英式幽默。用的动词很丰富，描述也很有画面感。感觉跟随这位作家的描述认识了很多奇奇怪怪的人（用叉子吃橘子，戴假发套却在肩膀撒滑石粉假装自己有头皮屑的秃头大爷…）一个个都活灵活现。

苦涩中的幽默
罗尔德达尔的第二本原版书。不得不感叹作者命大，在北非和希腊的战斗中总是死里逃生。之前看小约翰可汗的介绍视频，就对这位狠人的人生很好奇，今日一睹果然名副其实。
比Boy更好看！人生经历真的太精彩了，难怪能写出精彩的故事！
几个感想：
1. 作者很命大很幸运，差点造成他死亡的意外最后反而救了他…
2. 打仗其实有时也很“草率”，尤其在偏远地区人力物力匮乏，感觉两边都不是很有经验的样子
3. 很会写，可能考虑到年轻读者，把战争的残酷一面写出来的同时文字又不会让人陷入过多的悲伤
